The walk up to Malfoy Manor was similar, if easier, than last year's. Only this time around, both Draco and Mia were taking turns carrying Cepheus and letting the baby try to take a step or two between them, all bundled up in his warm winter clothes. Lemia followed behind and picked up her grandson so that he may see the peafowl with her while Draco went to the door.

Cepheus cooed, and made grabby motions toward the birds at times.

"And to think I was worried the peafowl and the baby might not get along last year," she comments.
Mia smiles, too, and takes Draco's hand in hers.
"I just hope he doesn't get too attached. He's sure to miss them dreadfully when we leave."
"Oh, he'll be fine," Lemia says. "He'll have plenty of fun to distract him, what with this Blue Star holiday going on. Christmas, right?"
"Yes, this one is Christmas," Mia answers. "The one with Father Christmas and his elves who make toys for good boys and girls."

Draco chuckled at him, and remarked, "Also a tree, decorations with lots of lights, and good food. It's quite a celebration usually. Halloween's bigger for us, but oh, Cepheus can play with Wizarding crackers now."
He added to Mia, "With our help of course. He can have one of the bigger toys."

Mia lets go of his hand before she says, "Your mum will probably want a hug."
She goes to her mother and her baby, asking Cepheus, "What do you see, sweetie?"
"Badahs!" he replies enthusiastically.
"Birdies?" Mia answers back, just as enthusiastic.
"Yah," the baby says, waving to them.

He then stepped forward to head up to the front doors.

"Daddy's right," Mia says, holding the baby's hand. "It's time for you to see Grandfather and Grandmum."
She gives him a kiss and he makes a kissy face back at her.
"Are you all right with him, Mama?" Mia asks.
"Couldn't be better," Lemia replies.

"Shhh, it's okay, sweetheart," Lemia says. "Nothing to be afraid of."
"Maybe we should hold off on the crackers around him," Mia comments, also trying to be soothing to the baby.

Cepheus continues to fuss and says, "Mama," reaching for Mia. She obliges and takes the baby as he rubs his fists into his eyes.

She gives him a smile and Cepheus's fussing begins to calm down.
"We want him to be happy for his first Christmas but I don't think he's going to remember if we let him play with any Christmas crackers or not."

"Your father will be down in another moment." She then nodded politely to Lemia, and Mia, but there was a small slight smile at the sight of Cepheus.
"Is that...?"

"Cepheus, look. Your grandmum is here to see you."
"Gam-ma?" he half-gums.
"You want to go to Grandmum?"
"Gam-ma," he says again, holding a hand out towards Narcissa.
Mia moves and carefully offers the baby to her mother-in-law.

"He looks a little like your aunts, Draco. Like a Black."
Draco tilted his head, "Well, he certainly looks a lot like his mum." He gave a smile to Mia.

"Though he has his father's eyes," Mia adds, smiling back at Draco.
"His face looks a bit like your Grandmother Nia when she was young, though," Lemia comments. "Especially when he smiles."

She turned to the side to walk along with him, though a subtle nod of her head to Lemia to join them.
Draco wryly remarked to Mia, "And you think I'm going to be spoiling him?"

"Ailaboo," he babbles contentedly.
"It's okay while he's still so small," Lemia says when she walks by Draco on her way to follow Narcissa and Cepheus.
"It looks like they'll be occupied," Mia adds, putting her hand on Draco's arm. "Perhaps we should go see about some of those Christmas goodies for him so he'll be surprised. After you see your father, of course."

"Ah Draco, Happy Christmas. And you, Mia."

Draco gave her a wry look, "As I was saying, cue the spoiling."

"He sounds like he's spoiled enough just being with his family."
She takes his hand.
"We should let them know that we want to go into town. Do you think they would be interested in meeting us for dinner once we've finished our shopping?"

Draco trudged back, rolling his eyes a little, "I fear we might have been replaced."

She walks downstairs to see them, Cepheus most definitely sitting in Lucius's lap now with his toes being mercilessly tickled by one grandmother or the other.
"Daddy and I will be back with you and your grandparents for supper, Cepheus," Mia says, pressing a kiss on the top of his head. "I love you."
"Ailabooooo," he coos back in between giggles.
Mia walks back and goes, "Okay, you might have a point."

"Now, have we got everything we'll need? I don't think we'll need to stop by the bank."

"Here I'll go first to show you." He took a pinch of powder from the pot near the mantel.
"DIAGON ALLEY!"

Mia takes a pinch of the powder herself and does what her husband did.
"DIAGON ALLEY!"
Hopefully the fireplace understood her Vanetian accent.

"This is really exciting, isn't it?" she asks. "We're both going to see places we've never been to before."

"Right, well, was there anything you wanted from this side while we're here? Some books for the Guild perhaps? Could pick up a few special owl treats too."

She braces herself for the cold as they head for the door.
"The housewares shop first, I think?" she asks. "And we can look around for a place where all of us could have dinner?"
From:

Draco considered that, and then nodded, as he walked alongside her.
"Good, there were a few tools I wanted to pick up. And looks like we have several prospects. What do you fancy?"
From:

And she thinks about what to have for dinner.
"We should find a place that won't mind Cepheus. We should look for restaurants that are letting families with young children in, ones that don't have age limits."
She softly laughs.
"Things that you don't expect change when you have a baby, don't they?"

"Well, we could do something after our shopping before telling the family we'd like to have dinner together?" she suggests, catching onto his disappointment. "It just seems like dinner should be something we do with everyone is all."

They continued to talk as they headed into the main part of the city to relax, shop, and just have a chance to enjoy each other's company and the holiday season.
