Will had just been getting up and saw Mia crying and got over to her as quickly as he could.

Putting an arm around her shoulders, not hugging her yet, not sure what she needed,

"Lady Mia, what's wrong? Tis Will, tell me what 'appened."

She had made it to her door before Will had reached her. She just falls against his chest and sobs heavily in the hallway.

If she says anything, it's simply this.

"Fool. I was a fool."

Will holds her as she cries, rubbing her back,

"Shh, ye're na a fool, Mia."

[gorgonfondness]

"Yes I am!" she cries. "I should have listened to you."

[will_scarlett]

"What did 'e do?"

Will keeps his voice as even as he can, because he hates to see Mia hurting this way. And he knows she was hoping Draco could truly change and he'd rather have been wrong about the wizard.

[gorgonfondness]

"He used me. Had his way with me," she sobs. "And I thought he loved me. He just wanted my body. Why else would he do the same thing with someone else a couple of days afterward?"

Being like this is almost too much for her. Too much like when Draco comforted her.

She's sinking to the floor.

The hug gets a little stronger for a moment as Will tries to push his anger down.

How dare Draco treat Mia that way!

As Mia starts to slip, Will just picks her up more, so her feet are barely touching the ground,

"Cause 'e's a fool, tisna yer fault, Mia."

"Yes it is," she moans. "I could have said no. I could have listened to you. Or Harry. Even Draco himself told me I shouldn't trust him and I did anyway."

She shudders for a moment and her sobs are renewed.

"Ye 'ave faith an see the good in all o'us, Mia, dinna stop that just cause 'e was a fool. But ye took a chance an ye shouldna regret that risk. Tis the greatest crime 'e's done to ye, makin' ye doubt yerself."

She just sobs and shakes her head.

It's like the plant all over again.

She should have known.

Will just keeps rubbing her back as she sobs and finally starts singing, its a song about a brave and foolish knight who risked so much and in the end won out.

"No," she sobs. "Don't sing. Please don't sing."

It's too much. Too much like Draco.

Will stops as soon as Mia speaks,

"Forgive me, Mia. Will make 'im pay for 'urtin' ye so."

[gorgonfondness]

"Will it even matter to him?" she bitterly asks, thick through her sobs. "Can he even feel?"

[will_scarlett]

"I dinna know, Mia. 'ow did 'e react when ye spoke to 'im?"

Hearing such bitterness in her voice, hurts Will even more, Draco's not allowed to hurt Mia like this.

He knows how hard self doubt is and to make someone else feel it is just wrong.

"His reaction means nothing. He is a liar. He manipulates people. I was just another toy."

She's gasping hard from the effort of her sobs.

Will's not letting go anytime soon as Mia cries,

"Aye, an 'e'll learn there's a price for treatin' ye as such. Ye 'ave me word on that."

The anger that Will has been trying to keep down as he speaks comes out now, giving his voice a more dangerous edge.

"What's the point? He won't stop."

[will_scarlett]

"'e won't 'urt ye 'gain. Will do all I can to keep 'im from comin' near ye, all ye 'ave to do is ask."

Will sounds older and more sure as he talks, no one hurts his friends like this and is allowed to do it again.

She can't find anything else to say. She just sobs in his hold, outside her door.

Will just holds tight as Mia cries, not singing again, just being there as she gets it out. Tomorrow he will deal with the wizard, tonight he is making sure Mia is safe.
